Intro/outro for ‘vulnerable’ secondhand serenade guitar chords? I’m only a beginner?

I use the C-G-Am-F chords :

and I was wondering if someone could explain the intro very simply in a way I can understand it? because without the intro/outro I sound terrible!
I don’t know barre chords or power chords, and can’t read tablature very well.
Thanks!
Also, as an extra thing, could I please have some help with the strumming pattern? Once again, I’m only a begginer, I know only open position chords, and reading tablature is hard for me. Thanks, Hayley.

sorry but tab is the easiest way to teach songs. Look it up on youtube, I’m sure somebody has a how-to video on it. Good luck.
